Tri-Level Interchange
| The overall project scope includes Phase II engineering design services for the preparation of contract plans, special provisions and estimates for the complete reconstruction of the existing I55/I64/I70 Tri-Level Interchange. The construction cost, as estimated by IDOT District 8, was $100 million. As part of CTE’s team, Soodan’s scope of work includes preparation of contract plans for the retaining walls in the project. The retaining walls range from 70 ft to 1,500 ft in length and 5 ft to 30 ft in height. The scope of work for the retaining walls includes seismic design, wall type studies, TS&L plans and detailed plans and estimates. Soodan’s scope of work also includes preparation of contract documents for approximately 800-ft-long 15th Street pedestrian bridge (S.N. 082-0394). The following retaining walls are included in Soodan’s scope of work: 082-W216, 082-W217, 082-W220, 082-W221, 082-W222, 082-W223, 082-W224, 082-W226, 082-W227, 082-W228 and 082-W229. The retaining wall types include MSE walls, sheet pile with concrete facing and cantilever walls. The pedestrian bridge and retaining walls are in seismic Category B. |
