Metra's UPRR West Line
| Soodan provided architectural and engineering services as a design team member for Metra’s commuter line 8.5-mile extension from Geneva to Elburn. The project involved the addition of one track to existing two tracks configuration starting from West of Geneva at milepost 38.7 and ending in Elburn at milepost 43.9.
Scope of work involved architectural and structural engineering for new station platforms at LaFox and Elburn including accessible ramps, warming house and tunnel at LaFox; a crew facility building of 4,200 SF, storage buildings for railroad maintenance of way and mechanical/electrical storage at Elburn. Soodan’s scope of work also included approximately 8,200 linear ft. of retaining wall along new track. In addition to preparation of Construction Documents, Soodan also provided 3-Dimensional renderings for presentations and shop drawing reviews during the construction phase of the project. |
